Loftia storage: Personal Storage and a full bag
Build Personal Storage at the Project Station, ship crops and cooked dishes instead of hoarding them, and hand fish to the Research Station that lists them.
Why does the bag fill so fast?
Four loops write into one inventory: gathering around the city, salvage from your island and the crates outside it, fishing, and cooking. None of them stops when the bag is full, so a session that mixes a salvage run with a fishing trip ends with no room for the quest item you actually need.
Empty the bag by destination rather than by rarity. The Shipping Bin and the Research Stations each take specific categories, and both are cheaper than storing everything “for later”.
How do you build Personal Storage?
Craft it at the Project Station. Personal Storage is a level-1 recipe: Scrap Wood 5 and Metal Scraps 5, for 3 energy.
- Clear debris on your island with the Hammer, or break the wooden crates around the city perimeter, until you have both materials.
- Open the Project Station and craft Personal Storage.
- Place it on your plot, then move the stacks you are not using this session into it.
Scrap wood and metal scraps come from the same debris that blocks your plot, so the first storage box usually costs one clearing pass. Crafting lists where each raw material drops, and housing covers how placement space works.
What should go where?
| Item type | Destination | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Harvested crops | Shipping Bin | Dews |
| Cooked dishes | Shipping Bin | More Dews than the raw crops |
| Fish | Research Station that lists the species | Bundle progress |
| Planks, plates, fabrics | Personal Storage | Inputs for later tailoring and carpentry tiers |
| Bloom, Scrambled Coordinates | Keep on you | Adventure entries, Milo’s stock, tailoring |
The pattern is simple: anything the bin accepts is money, anything a bundle names is progress, and everything else is a material for a recipe you have not reached yet. The recipe finder shows which of those materials a future station actually consumes.
Do fish belong in the Shipping Bin?
No. The Collector Rod exists to collect fish for study, and the Research Stations take named species rather than any catch. A bag full of fish that no bundle asks for is the usual reason a fishing session ends early, so check the station’s list before you keep casting at the same spot. Fishing covers the Collector Rod, the timing minigame and the fish bundles.
What is worth keeping for later?
Refined materials are the bulky items worth storing: Plank, Metal Plate, Plastic Sheet and the fabrics. Tailoring and carpentry tiers above level 1 are built on them, as are most Project Station level 2 and 3 recipes, while cooking and refining tiers work from raw materials. Refined materials lists what each input becomes.
Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates are the opposite case: they are small stacks that gate Adventures, Milo’s walls and 138 of the 235 tailoring recipes, so keep them on you rather than in a box at home.
What happens when Dews are capped?
Shipping still consumes the items. If the counter has stopped rising, a full batch disappears into a capped total with nothing to show for it (Steam discussion). The ceiling itself is a player report rather than a documented rule: the accounts in that thread disagree on whether it was a Demo-period limit, and official pages do not record it either way. Check the Dew counter before a batch and ship in smaller amounts. Make money covers the same ceiling and what to spend Dews on.
What if items disappear from the bag?
Report it rather than refarming. A developer asks players who lost materials to email [email protected] so the team can look up the account and restore what went missing (Steam discussion). Note the time, what vanished and whether you had just travelled between the island and the city.
