Loftia regions: City, Hanging Gardens and Gridfall
Explore Loftia’s three announced Early Access regions, what makes each district different, and which areas appear in the demo.
Which regions are announced for Early Access?
The full-game Steam description names three major regions for the Early Access storyline: Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens and Gridfall. The developer describes the Demo as the City opening, with additional districts for Early Access.
What is Loftia City?
Loftia City is the demo’s introductory setting. The developer describes meeting its NPCs, following the opening story and trying farming, decorating, salvaging, adventures and social activities.
Use the city as your reference point when comparing a demo video with an Early Access guide. An activity shown elsewhere may depend on a different build or a later stage. The beginner guide explains how to make those distinctions.
What is in the Hanging Gardens?
The official overview describes the Hanging Gardens as a greener district with fishing spots, community farms and a mysterious forest. Promotional imagery shows a large pink tree and waterfalls.
The developer also announces new traversal options for Early Access, including a glider propeller upgrade and Bounce Shoes.
Read fishing and research or farming if those activities are why you want to explore the Gardens.
What is Gridfall?
Gridfall is Loftia’s salvaging district, built from scraps on the remains of the old world. The official description mentions air rails, tall buildings, a museum, local social spaces and secret underground tunnels.
For players interested in gathering and making things, it is an especially relevant district to understand. See the crafting introduction for the connection between resources and island projects.
The NPC directory identifies regional roles, and research and Urbex explains two exploration activities.
Are all these places available in the demo?
No. The developer’s closing announcement describes the Demo as the opening in Loftia City, with additional districts for Early Access. Our version comparison keeps that boundary explicit.
Research and Urbex
Research Stations focus on the living world. Gather local flora and fauna and contribute them to the community’s study of Loftia’s islands. The Early Access feature overview presents these contributions as a way to make new discoveries together.
The Collector Rod gives fishing a related conservation theme: fish are collected safely for study and repopulation. The Hanging Gardens has fishing waters and community farms, making it an appealing district if you enjoy plants, animals and quieter outdoor activities. Read the fishing overview to connect that activity with Loftia’s residents.
Urbex turns your attention toward the past. Explore ancient underground tunnels and abandoned buildings for Artifacts connected to Old Earth. Gridfall’s salvaging setting also includes a museum and secret tunnels, so its buildings and local stories are worth exploring when you are interested in Loftia’s history.
Research, Urbex and Adventures give you different reasons to leave your island. Choose Research Stations for community nature study, Urbex for historical discovery, or Adventures for group puzzles and gauntlets. In Early Access, Ryder’s airship reaches more distant research islands with additional challenges.
To get around these districts, the announced traversal additions include the Glider’s Propeller for higher flight, Bounce Shoes for reaching new heights in the Hanging Gardens and rail boots for Gridfall’s rails. Pair your exploration with the main story and return to your home island when you want a change of pace.
